0.0.15a (Multiplayer Test 1) is a version of Minecraft:Java Edition Classic released on May 31, 2009,<ref>Template:Ytl</ref> at 19:04 UTC, which made changes to lava, textures, and trees.<ref>.jar file has a compilation time of 21:04 UTC+2.</ref><ref>IRC logs: "[13:05] <@notch> http://www.minecraft.net/mptest/" (19:05 UTC)</ref> It is the inaugural Minecraft:Multiplayer Test version and is thus the first ever version of Minecraft with Minecraft:multiplayer compatibility. It was released onto a separate applet page than the preceding versions; this meant that players could return to 0.0.14a_08 if the Multiplayer Test version was broken.

- The default server port is 5565, the same one used for Minecraft:Infiniminer servers.

Bugs
3 bugs reported
- The Minecraft:player can place blocks inside other players in multiplayer.
- Underwater Minecraft:fog, which is now applied to the Minecraft:sky, cuts off at the distance fog end.
- When 2 blocks are placed diagonally from each other with water or lava on one side and air on the other, the player can swim up even if they are standing on the dry side.<ref>Contemporary report (from Minecraft:0.0.15a_02): Template:Cite IRC log</ref>
