This guide is a simplified overview of all the changes in the Minecraft:Java Edition Infdev releases, which assumes at least some familiarity with Indev releases.

Blocks

Minecraft:Ladder	File:Ladder (S) JE2 BE1.png		Axe	Can be used to climb upwards.
Minecraft:Door	File:Oak Door JE3 BE1.png		Axe	Can be opened and closed.
Minecraft:Rail	File:Rail (NS) JE1.png		Pickaxe	Can be used to make minecart tracks.
Minecraft:Monster Spawner	File:Monster Spawner JE1.png	Generates in dungeons.	Pickaxe	Spawns zombies, skeletons or spiders around it.
Minecraft:Wooden Stairs	File:Oak Stairs (N) JE1 BE1.png		Axe	Allows you to walk upwards without jumping.

Changed

Minecraft:Water and Minecraft:Lava	Template:Animate	Minecraft:Liquids now flow as they do in modern versions of Minecraft. Water and lava now form Minecraft:stone, Minecraft:cobblestone or Minecraft:obsidian upon contact. Minecraft:Springs of water or lava can now randomly generate on stone surfaces.
Minecraft:Sand and Minecraft:Gravel	Template:Animate	Now fall realistically.
Minecraft:Sign	File:Oak Sign (0) JE1.png	Is now a block instead of an entity. Can now display custom text. Now craftable:

Minecraft:Golden Apple	File:Golden Apple JE1 BE1.png	Found in dungeon chests.	Can be eaten to fully restore the player's health.
Minecraft:Bucket	File:Bucket JE1 BE1.png	Found in dungeon chests.	Can be used to pick up liquids.
Minecraft:Water Bucket	File:Water Bucket JE1 BE1.png	Using a bucket on a water source block empties the block and fills the bucket.	Can be used to place water source blocks.
Minecraft:Lava Bucket	File:Lava Bucket JE1 BE1.png	Using a bucket on a lava source block empties the block and fills the bucket.	Can be used to place lava source blocks.
Minecraft:Saddle	File:Saddle JE1 BE1.png	Found in dungeon chests.	Can be used to ride pigs.

Gameplay

New

Minecraft:Far Lands	File:Late Infdev Corner Far Lands.png Found beyond 12,550,824 blocks from the center of the world.
Infinite worlds	Worlds are now functionally infinite in size, instead of limited to a few hundred blocks across at most. Worlds are now loaded incrementally using Minecraft:chunks, instead of loading in all at once. An entirely new terrain generator has been added, creating more expansive mountains, lakes and caves than before. Caves now contain lava lakes and dirt and gravel patches.
Minecraft:Void	File:The Void Below.png Found below bedrock. In prior versions, below the bottom of the world was either an infinite lava sea or an infinite blue sky.
