The Minecraft Chess Set or Minecraft Chess Set: Overworld Heros vs. Hostile Mobs is Minecraft-themed Template:W set with ornate pieces based on Minecraft:characters and Minecraft:mobs in the game.

Description

The set comes wrapped in a thin plastic layer, with a thin cutout decorating the main box. Opening the box reveals an assembly manual, along with four plastic-wrapped quadrants of the board that need to be placed together before playing. Underneath, two plastic containers encasing the black and white pieces (seperated by another plastic sheet), respectively, are put. Two small plastic bags with two metalic Minecraft logos each to be embedded in the chess frame are also put.<ref name="vid">Template:Cite </ref>

White pieces have a "Template:W"-like finish and Minecraft:emerald inspired bases, and are based on Minecraft:Overworld mobs and Minecraft:player characters. Black pieces have an "Minecraft:obsidian"-like finish with a redstone inspired base, and are based off of Minecraft:monsters.<ref name="noble"/> While the pieces are made to resemble stone, they are made of a plastic like material.<ref name="vid"/> A pixelated insignia representing the piece type is shown on a pieces base, that being in an orange color for white pieces and red for black ones.<ref name="shop">Template:Cite</ref>

The board itself is 18 inches, with alternating light and dark green squares representing based on grass. The frame is described as "wood-like", with metalic-finished Minecraft logos facing outwards on each side.<ref name="shop"/>
