Minecraft:The Survivors

From SAS Gaming Wiki

Template:Canonicity unclearTemplate:Infobox group The Survivors are a group of heroes, and the primary focus of Minecraft: The Survivors' Book of Secrets. They protected the Overworld for many years, leaving behind a record of their adventures and philosophies to inspire future generations, signed by their Minecraft:Chief.

Appearance

Although they have never been seen in person, in the book they are represented through illustrations of Minecraft:armored Minecraft:players, with hatching for shadows and the brows of Minecraft:helmets used to represent eyes. Otherwise, they do not have any visible detail.

Abilities

Through unknown means, the Survivors have the power to transcend their vision and see their surroundings from a third person perspective.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>

History

Template:Uncertain timeline The Survivors began during the "days of Alpha,"<ref name=":3" /> researching various mobs and the world they lived in, creating a rating system for threats they faced.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> As their campaign continued, they reached other dimensions, including Minecraft:the Nether. There they found the place horrific and unsettling, taking safety precautions to make sure nothing from it would escape into the Minecraft:Overworld. While there, they took control of a Minecraft:nether fortress, blocking off the Minecraft:blaze spawner,<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> and restoring it into their personal base for Nether expeditions.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> At an unknown time, they constructed a Minecraft:beacon, which saved their lives on several different occasions.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>

Through unknown means, the Survivors were able to either construct an Minecraft:end portal or commandeered a Minecraft:stronghold into their base of operations, using the portal as a trap.<ref name=":0">Template:Cite book</ref> Whether before or after this, they ventured into Minecraft:the End, and managed to defeat the Minecraft:ender dragon, avenging the many who had failed to smite it.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> At an unknown recent time, they discovered the ender dragon could be respawned using Minecraft:end crystals, and subsequentially defeated it again. From there, they ventured out into the outer limits of the End, and discovered an Minecraft:end city.

Throughout the years, they would earn many enemies,<ref name=":3">Template:Cite book</ref> several even raiding their base.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> Following these attacks, they installed a panic room inside of their base, though had never found a use for it on record.<ref name=":1">Template:Cite book</ref> It is also implied that they had once summoned a Minecraft:wither in the base of one of their enemies.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> During a recon, three Survivors ambushed an enemy group by shooting at them from the top of a Minecraft:canyon.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>

They also shared their resources with Minecraft:villagers, helping fortifying their Minecraft:villages. On at least one occasion, they built an unnaturally large Minecraft:iron golem for a village.<ref name=":2">Template:Cite book</ref> Upon discovering the threat of an Minecraft:enderman, they managed to trick it into getting stuck in a Minecraft:minecart, and used it as a target dummy.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>

Procedures

The Survivors are known to be very proactive and introspective, coming up with elaborate protocols for dealing with unpredictable situations. They hold very honorable beliefs, always lending a hand to those who can't defend themselves.<ref name=":2" /> While primarily a defensive group, they have also shown some pacifistic traits, keeping weaker Minecraft:slimes and Minecraft:wolves as pets.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref><ref name=":4">Template:Cite book</ref> However, they are not opposed to killing their enemies,<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> one of their signature moves while fighting is to pour Minecraft:lava on their opponents, often entrapping them in a closed space. While partaking in stealth missions, they often brew Minecraft:potions of invisibility to sneak past enemies.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>

Among their strategies include the Pincer, where two groups would attack an enemy from opposing sides of a given location, and the Ambush, where a "hidden" group of Survivors intervene to a rendezvous. While fighting the ender dragon, they have a technique known as the "Survivors' Special," where they use beds as explosives and can defeat the beast in as few as four hits.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>

Defenses

For exterior defense, the Survivors favored a mixture of a Minecraft:netherrack-based "Minecraft:fire ditch" and Minecraft:iron trapdoor-based moat, along with an outer wall.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> In order to prevent cover for enemy forces, they would remove all Minecraft:trees from the surrounding area.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> They have also recommended building a ditch to deal with Minecraft:zombies and Minecraft:skeletons,<ref>Template:Cite book</ref> and Minecraft:cactus walls for spiders.<ref name=":4" /> For endermen, they recommend a series of defensive rails with looping minecarts

Inside their base, they would employ the use of an "Ultimate Defense System," an elaborate labyrinth of various traps. This consisted of a Minecraft:piston chamber, a chamber filled with Minecraft:cobwebs, a chamber holding a Minecraft:spider and Minecraft:skeleton, a Minecraft:lava pit, a hall of Minecraft:dispensers, a pit with an Minecraft:end portal installed, a floor made of Minecraft:ice and Minecraft:soul sand, a third room dependent on spiders, and a Minecraft:trapped chest rigged to expel lava.<ref name=":0" /> In the event of an emergency, they maintain a panic room, buried underground and reinforced with Minecraft:obsidian.<ref name=":1" />

Outside of their personal headquarters, they were prone to constructing walls around villages.<ref name=":2" />

Terminology

Within the group, they have several defined classes. Archers specialize in ranged weapons such as Minecraft:bows and Minecraft:arrows. Potion-Lobbers weaponize alchemy. Juggernauts refer to highly Minecraft:enchanted warriors who come in small numbers.<ref>Template:Cite book</ref>

From their early days, the Survivors devised a "threat-level grading system," used for determining the lethality of hostile Minecraft:mobs. This system was documented in the Chief's journal, using skulls for measurement.
