When a player is wearing at least one piece of golden armor, Minecraft:piglins behave as neutral instead of hostile.
In Minecraft:Java Edition, piglins are neutral toward players wearing at least one piece of golden armor. As of 1.21.2, this behavior is controlled by the <code>piglin_safe_armor</code> Minecraft:tag, which includes golden armor by default, allowing data packs to designate other armor types as safe. In Minecraft:Bedrock Edition, piglins are neutral only toward players wearing golden armor.

All pieces of golden armor can also be used to distract piglins. Piglins equip them, prioritizing it over all other armor materials, after inspecting them.

Mob loot

Minecraft:Zombies, Minecraft:husks, Minecraft:zombie villagersTemplate:Only, Minecraft:skeletons, Minecraft:strays, Minecraft:bogged, and Minecraft:parched have a chance to spawn wearing armor on Normal and Hard Minecraft:difficulty, with a 33.29% chance of it being golden armor. Additionally, each armor slot of a Minecraft:piglin independently has a 10% chance of being filled with a golden armor piece upon spawning. If killed by a Minecraft:player, there is an 8.5% chance (9.5% with Minecraft:Looting I, 10.5% with Looting II and 11.5% with Looting III) for the mob to drop the armor they're wearing upon death. The dropped armor has a random Minecraft:durability and retains any enchantments it has.

Usage

Template:Main Wearing golden armor reduces damage taken from most damage types and pacifies Minecraft:piglins.

Statistics

When a full set of golden armor is worn, the set provides Template:Armor armor points.

Damage reduction

Template:Main Wearing armor reduces incoming damage according to two values: armor, and armor toughness. Each piece of armor provides a given armor and armor toughness value, and the values from each armor piece are added together when calculating damage reduction.

The strength of incoming damage also determines the damage reduction of worn armor, as armor does not protect in a linear fashion.
