Blocks
Minecraft:Ice crystal
* A crystal block which generates on the ground in Minecraft:ice caves, and can be placed on all sides of a block.
* Provides a small amount of light.

  Minecraft:Icicle
* A spike block that generates on the ceiling in ice caves, and can also be placed on the ground.
* Grows naturally up to 5 blocks long when hanging downward. Does not grow when there is light or in Minecraft:the Nether.
* Breaks when exposed to nearby light sources or while in the Nether, except for its base block.
* Damages entities when it falls and deals extra damage to entities that land on it.

Items
Minecraft:Frostbite spawn egg
* Used to spawn a Minecraft:frostbite.

Minecraft:Ice ball
* A throwable projectile that deals 4 damage, scaling down with velocity.
* Breaks on impact with blocks or entities, creating a particle effect and sound.
* Obtained by killing a frostbite.

Minecraft:Potion of Freezing

* A tipped arrow which causes the Freezing effect.

Mobs
  Minecraft:Frostbite
* A zombie variant that can be found in snowy biomes.
* It has two modes of attacking: a melee attack and a ranged attack, similar to Minecraft:drowned.
** Most frostbites use a standard melee attack, which gives the Freezing effect.
** Some frostbites spawn holding ice balls, which they throw as a ranged attack. When the target is close, they switch to melee.
* Drops Minecraft:rotten flesh and Minecraft:ice balls.
* Transforms into a zombie when underwater for long enough.
* It can stand on top of Minecraft:powder snow.
* It is immune to Minecraft:Freezing and does not get slowed by the Freezing effect or powder snow.

Gameplay
Minecraft:Effects
*  Minecraft:Freezing
** An effect that causes an entity to Minecraft:freeze, dealing damage over time, slowing their movement, and lowering their jump height.
** Equipping a piece of leather armor prevents freezing damage but not the slowness.
** Effect technically already existed as Minecraft:powder snow causes the same result.
** Mobs will take additional damage from freezing while they are affected by the mob effect.
*** Mobs that are vulnerable to freezing have a five times multiplier to the damage taken.

World generation
'
* A cave biome that generates underneath frozen biomes. They occasionally generate on the surface.
* The terrain is composed of Minecraft:packed ice and Minecraft:calcite. Icicles hang from the ceiling; ice crystals and patches of Minecraft:snow generate on the ground.
* Large icicles made of packed ice generate on the ground and hanging from the ceiling.
* Ores generate inside blobs of Minecraft:stone and Minecraft:deepslate.
* Minecraft:Glow lichen, Minecraft:dirt, and Minecraft:granite do not generate.
* Common cave monsters, Minecraft:strays, and Minecraft:frostbites can spawn here.

** Each chunk queues at most 4,096 events and delivers at most 100 events per tick. New events are dropped while the queue is full.
** BlockComponentNeighborChangedAfterEvent.getChanges returns one NeighborChange for each direction that changed during the tick.
** If one direction changes more than once during a tick, previousPermutation contains the permutation before the first change and blockPermutation contains the permutation after the last change. Intermediate permutations are not included.
** NeighborChange.direction points from the listening block to the neighbor that changed.
** BlockComponentNeighborChangedAfterEvent.block is a live handle to the listening block. The permutations returned by getChanges are snapshots of the changed neighbor.
** If the block does not have minecraft:neighbor_change, changes from all neighboring directions can trigger the event.

Latest revision as of 11:05, 22 October 2026

Template:Infobox version 26.60, also known as 1.26.60, is an upcoming minor update for Template:BE set to release on October 27, 2026, which adds experimental features for the fourth drop of 2026 and fixes bugs.

This is the first full release of Bedrock Edition for Nintendo Switch 2, after a closed beta of the native version was available. As opposed to the original Nintendo Switch version, which is backward-compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, this native version includes Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, and an increase of the regular render distance to 28 chunks.

Together with this release, the Minecraft:Super Mario Mash-up, bundled with Nintendo platforms, will be updated for Vibrant Visuals. Additionally, newly purchased Minecraft:Minecoins will no longer be cross-platform available between Nintendo platforms and other platforms.

Additions

Blocks

File:Missing Tile BE3.png Template:Cd

  • Has no texture and no in-game name and can only be obtained via third-party software.

Changes

Blocks

Minecraft:Brown mushroom and Minecraft:red mushroom

  • Can now be placed on any block with a top solid face regardless of lighting conditions.

  • Now require central block support.

Minecraft:Shelf mushroom

Minecraft:Straw bed

  • Can no longer be placed on blocks occupied by an entity.

Minecraft:Trapdoors

  • Trapdoors now have snappable placement: holding the place block control while a trapdoor is selected will only place trapdoors in a fixed direction until the control is released.
    • Snappable placement de-activates interaction with blocks until the placement interaction is completed.

Items

Minecraft:Explorer map

  • Renamed the following explorer maps:
    • Jungle Explorer Map → Jungle Pyramid Map
    • Ocean Explorer Map → Ocean Monument Map
    • Swamp Explorer Map → Swamp Hut Map

Minecraft:Cat

  • Babies now have a unique animation for sneaking, sprinting, and walking.

File:Drowned JE1 BE3.png Minecraft:Drowned

Minecraft:Player

  • Players now take fall damage when landing on a solid block at the boundary of a Minecraft:water block.

  • Invalid JSON UI expressions will now emit a content error instead of failing silently.

Mobs

UI

  • Development resource and behavior packs are now refreshed when managing packs for a world, and take precedence over other copies when their version is equal or newer.
  • Bitmap fonts can now configure ASCII glyph cell height and vertical offset in an optional JSON file beside their first ASCII atlas, using Template:Cd and Template:Cd.
  • Setting Template:Cd to Template:Cd in the atlas metadata selects extended character mapping and defaults the glyph height to 12 and vertical offset to -3; explicit height and offset values override these defaults.

Additions

Template:Additions table

Blocks

File:Ice Crystal (U) BE1.png Minecraft:Ice crystal

  • A crystal block which generates on the ground in Minecraft:ice caves, and can be placed on all sides of a block.
  • Provides a small amount of light.

File:Icicle Base (D) BE1.png File:Icicle Base (U) BE1.png Minecraft:Icicle

  • A spike block that generates on the ceiling in ice caves, and can also be placed on the ground.
  • Grows naturally up to 5 blocks long when hanging downward. Does not grow when there is light or in Minecraft:the Nether.
  • Breaks when exposed to nearby light sources or while in the Nether, except for its base block.
  • Damages entities when it falls and deals extra damage to entities that land on it.

Items

File:Frostbite Spawn Egg BE1.png Minecraft:Frostbite spawn egg

File:Ice Ball BE1.png Minecraft:Ice ball

  • A throwable projectile that deals 4 damage, scaling down with velocity.
  • Breaks on impact with blocks or entities, creating a particle effect and sound.
  • Obtained by killing a frostbite.

Template:Animate Minecraft:Potion of Freezing

File:Arrow of Freezing BE1.png Minecraft:Arrow of Freezing

  • A tipped arrow which causes the Freezing effect.

Mobs

width=55x55 File:Baby Frostbite.png Minecraft:Frostbite

  • A zombie variant that can be found in snowy biomes.
  • It has two modes of attacking: a melee attack and a ranged attack, similar to Minecraft:drowned.
    • Most frostbites use a standard melee attack, which gives the Freezing effect.
    • Some frostbites spawn holding ice balls, which they throw as a ranged attack. When the target is close, they switch to melee.
  • Drops Minecraft:rotten flesh and Minecraft:ice balls.
  • Transforms into a zombie when underwater for long enough.
  • It can stand on top of Minecraft:powder snow.
  • It is immune to Minecraft:Freezing and does not get slowed by the Freezing effect or powder snow.

Gameplay

Minecraft:Effects

  • File:Freezing.png Minecraft:Freezing
    • An effect that causes an entity to Minecraft:freeze, dealing damage over time, slowing their movement, and lowering their jump height.
    • Equipping a piece of leather armor prevents freezing damage but not the slowness.
    • Effect technically already existed as Minecraft:powder snow causes the same result.
    • Mobs will take additional damage from freezing while they are affected by the mob effect.
      • Mobs that are vulnerable to freezing have a five times multiplier to the damage taken.

Minecraft:Block components

Blocks

  • Introduced the Template:Cd event that custom components can listen to.
    • A block can schedule a named tick with Template:Cd, which takes a name and tick delay as parameters.
    • A block can check if at least one named tick is already scheduled with Template:Cd, which takes a name as sole parameter.
    • A block can remove all scheduled named ticks matching a name with Template:Cd, which takes a name as sole parameter.
    • When handling the event from Template:Cd, Template:Cd can be leveraged to filter out events based on their name.
    • Named ticks are grouped by content packs, two content packs can schedule the same named tick, but Template:Cd will return differently based on the content pack calling the method.
    • Up to 4 named ticks can be scheduled at a given time on the same block position.
    • The name of a scheduled named tick cannot be longer than 31 characters.
    • Changing the block at a position wipes its scheduled named ticks.
    • Changing the permutation at a position does not wipe its scheduled named ticks.
  • Template:Cd will no longer accept single box objects from v1.26.60 onwards in favor of only using arrays.
  • Added an optional Template:Cd field to container in the Template:Cd block component, accepting literal text or localization keys of 1 to 256 characters with Upcoming Creator Features enabled; omitting the field leaves the container heading blank.
  • Data-driven container titles now stay on one line and truncate with ... when needed in Classic and Pocket UI, including after localization.
  • Added experimential block components, which require format version 1.26.60 and the Upcoming Creator Features experiment:
    • Added the experimental Template:Cd block component, which defines whether a block can transmit enchantment power. If set to true and a block with this component is placed in the 1 block gap between an Minecraft:enchanting table and a Minecraft:bookshelf, the enchantment table will remain powered by the bookshelf.
    • Added the experimental Template:Cd block component, which defines whether a custom block dampens or occludes vibrations through the Template:Cd and Template:Cd properties.
    • Added the experimental Template:Cd block component, which lets creators configure which neighboring block changes trigger the neighbor change after event for block custom components.
  • Added the beta Template:Cd event for custom block components.
    • Use Template:Cd to choose which neighboring directions trigger the event.
    • Call Template:Cd to get the neighboring block changes.
    • For each tick, the game queues one event for each listening block with neighbor changes. Changes from different ticks create separate events, even if delivery is delayed.
    • Each chunk queues at most 4,096 events and delivers at most 100 events per tick. New events are dropped while the queue is full.
    • Template:Cd returns one Template:Cd for each direction that changed during the tick.
    • If one direction changes more than once during a tick, Template:Cd contains the permutation before the first change and Template:Cd contains the permutation after the last change. Intermediate permutations are not included.
    • Template:Cd points from the listening block to the neighbor that changed.
    • Template:Cd is a live handle to the listening block. The permutations returned by Template:Cd are snapshots of the changed neighbor.
    • If the block does not have Template:Cd, changes from all neighboring directions can trigger the event.

Minecraft:Commands

  • Added new overloads to the Template:Cmd command for more control of the Overworld clock under the Creator World Clocks Features experiment.
  • The Template:Cmd command now makes the item plops sound when the object is put in your inventory.
  • Replaced Template:Cmd with Template:Cmd under the Creator World Clocks Features experiment.
    • Sets the Overworld clock to the occurrence of the time marker. By default this is next and works the same as the old Template:Cd variation.

Minecraft:Custom dimensions

  • Added the Template:Cd component, letting custom dimensions configure the height at which clouds render. No component means clouds do not render.

DDUI

  • Added support for multi button row at message box in beta. Button layout could be vertical or horizontal.
  • New interface Template:Cd:
    • Field Template:Cd: Sets the desired layout for the buttons, true for horizontal, false for vertical. Default value is false.
  • Class Template:Cd:
    • New constructor optional parameter Template:Cd.
    • New method Template:Cd. Allows to add a third button to the message box.
