=== Blocks === | |||
Minecraft:Brittle ice
* A fragile Minecraft:ice block that generates naturally in Minecraft:ice caves.
* Can be created when Minecraft:water touches Minecraft:blue ice.
* Breaks when standing for too long or jumping on them. Its crack level stages do not reset.
** Minecraft:Frostbites standing on brittle ice do not break it.
* Produces Minecraft:particles during its first stage or when it breaks.
* Emits Minecraft:vibrations when its crack level changes.
* Can only be obtained with Minecraft:Silk Touch.
Minecraft:Ice crystal
* A crystal block which generates on the ground in Minecraft:ice caves, and can be placed on all sides of a block.
* Provides a small amount of light.
 Minecraft:Icicle | |||
* A spike block that generates on the ceiling in ice caves, and can also be placed on the ground.
* Grows naturally up to 5 blocks long when hanging downward. Does not grow when there is light or in Minecraft:the Nether.
* Breaks when exposed to nearby light sources or while in the Nether, except for its base block.
* Damages entities when it falls and deals extra damage to entities that land on it.
Minecraft:Packed Ice Bricks
* Can be crafted from 4 Minecraft:packed ice.
* Have a slab, stairs, wall, and chiseled variant.
** These blocks are not slippery and can be obtained without using Minecraft:Silk Touch.
* Slabs, stairs, walls, and chiseled packed ice can also be crafted using a Minecraft:stonecutter.
=== Items === | |||
Minecraft:Frostbite spawn egg
* Used to spawn a Minecraft:frostbite.
Minecraft:Ice ball | |||
* A throwable projectile that deals 4 damage, scaling down with velocity.
* Breaks on impact with blocks or entities, creating a particle effect and sound.
* Obtained by killing a frostbite.
Minecraft:Potion of Freezing
* Obtained by brewing an Minecraft:awkward potion with an Minecraft:ice ball.
* Causes the Minecraft:Freezing effect.
Minecraft:Arrow of Freezing
* A tipped arrow which causes the Freezing effect.
=== Mobs === | |||
 Minecraft:Frostbite | |||
* A zombie variant that can be found in snowy biomes.
* It has two modes of attacking: a melee attack and a ranged attack, similar to Minecraft:drowned.
** Most frostbites use a standard melee attack, which gives the Freezing effect.
** Some frostbites spawn holding ice balls, which they throw as a ranged attack. When the target is close, they switch to melee.
* Drops Minecraft:rotten flesh and Minecraft:ice balls.
* Transforms into a zombie when underwater for long enough.
* It can stand on top of Minecraft:powder snow.
* It is immune to Minecraft:Freezing and does not get slowed by the Freezing effect or powder snow.
=== Gameplay === | |||
Minecraft:Effects | |||
* Minecraft:Freezing | |||
** An effect that causes an entity to Minecraft:freeze, dealing damage over time, slowing their movement, and lowering their jump height.
** Equipping a piece of leather armor prevents freezing damage but not the slowness.
** Effect technically already existed as Minecraft:powder snow causes the same result.
** Mobs will take additional damage from freezing while they are affected by the mob effect.
*** Mobs that are vulnerable to freezing have a five times multiplier to the damage taken.
=== World generation ===
' | |||
* A cave biome that generates underneath frozen biomes. They occasionally generate on the surface.
* The terrain is composed of Minecraft:packed ice and Minecraft:calcite. Icicles hang from the ceiling; ice crystals and patches of Minecraft:snow generate on the ground.
* Large icicles made of packed ice generate on the ground and hanging from the ceiling.
* Ores generate inside blobs of Minecraft:stone and Minecraft:deepslate.
* Minecraft:Glow lichen, Minecraft:dirt, and Minecraft:granite do not generate.
* Common cave monsters, Minecraft:strays, and Minecraft:frostbites can spawn here.
Minecraft:Crevasse | |||
* Generated cracks that generate in ice caves.
* Covered with Minecraft:brittle ice and a few blocks of Minecraft:calcite, and are filled with Minecraft:water below its surface.

* A player can open its GUI by using it. Here, players can input a blank disc and a Minecraft:dye, then select a Minecraft:music track, to create a music disc with that music track.
** Dyes are not required, they add color to the track disc.
** Available music tracks are Minecraft:menu screen tracks from Minecraft:C418 and Minecraft:fingerspit.
==== Items ==== | |||
Minecraft:Blank disc | |||
* A craftable item, used in a disc press to make track discs, and to craft disc presses and pocket jukeboxes. Has no use on its own.

}} | |||
* The color of the item matches with the bundle; there are 16 color variants plus one undyed.
* Its GUI functions similarly to a Minecraft:bundle. It can hold 20 track discs at once.
* When the player uses it, it will start playing the first track. When the player uses it again, it pauses, after which it can be resumed.
** Music played from a pocket jukebox will be played client-side, muting background music.
** Multiple tracks are played subsequently as a playlist.
** The music finishes when the pocket jukebox is no longer in the player's inventory, or the playing track disc is taken out of the pocket jukebox.
* Can be held in the Minecraft:offhand, but not used when doing so.
Minecraft:Track disc | |||
* A track disc item is produced upon using a blank disc in a disc press. It can hold one music track, and can be played in a Minecraft:jukebox or pocket jukebox.
* There are 16 color variants plus one undyed.
== Changes == | == Changes ==
=== Blocks === | |||
Minecraft:Blue ice, Minecraft:frosted ice, and Minecraft:packed ice
* Added unique sounds. | |||
Minecraft:Ice | |||
* Added unique sounds. | |||
* Added Minecraft:ambient sounds for ice.
** When an ice block is surrounded by at least 8 ice blocks in all horizontal directions (east, west, north, and south), with one air block above and one water block below, it has a chance to emit a sound.
Minecraft:Jukebox | |||
* Textures changed from .
* Placing a single Minecraft:chest, Minecraft:trapped chest, or Minecraft:copper chest above a jukebox will apply Minecraft:music discs inside to the jukebox as a playlist.
** A disc is automatically injected in the jukebox, and put back in the chest when the track finishes. This will automatically continue with all tracks in the chest, in slot order. After the last disc finishes, the first will be repeated.
** Ejecting the current disc skips to the next available disc.
=== Enchantments === | |||
Minecraft:Frost Walker
* Water now freezes in a circular area around the wearer, removing directional bias from the ice trail.
* Water now freezes only while the wearer is on the ground, preventing fatal fall damage caused by frosted ice forming beneath them while diving into water.
=== Mobs === | |||

=== Technical === | === Technical ===
Minecraft:API | |||
* Script API string arguments now preserve embedded NUL (\0) characters instead of being truncated.
* Added additional error context information when an exception is thrown inside of an event callback.
* Added Newline and whitespace changes to the formatting of the stack error context for exceptions.
* Released @minecraft/server version 2.12.0.

** Added 2.5.0 beta of @minecraft/server-ui.
Blocks | |||
* Added the minecraft:jukebox_playlist_source block component.
** Marks a block as a source of music discs for a jukebox directly below it.
** Requires a compatible single container.
Minecraft:Block components
* Minecraft:Doors: | |||
** The upper half of a door now reports the same open_bit block state as the lower half, rather than always reporting the door as closed. This covers doors placed by players, doors generated as part of a structure, and doors in existing worlds, which are corrected the first time their chunk loads.
* Minecraft:Repeater:
** Repeater blocks now expose a locked block state that is true while a powered repeater or comparator is feeding one of the repeater's side inputs.
** For new worlds (base game version 1.26.60 and later), repeater locked state changes now trigger neighbor block updates for parity with Java Edition; existing worlds keep the prior client-only update behavior.
* Minecraft:Scaffolding:
** Scaffolding blocks now expose a bottom block state that is true when the block below provides no support and is not another scaffolding.
** For new worlds (base game version 1.26.60 and later), scaffolding bottom state changes now trigger neighbor block updates for parity with Java Edition; existing worlds keep the prior client-only update behavior.
* Modified minecraft:destructible_by_mining component renamed seconds_to_destroy field to base_time_to_destroy.
Entity components | |||
* The minecraft:transformation component now preserves empty equipment slots when preserve_equipment is set to true.
* Made schema for the minecraft:annotation.break_door component stricter when parsing and will fail to load an entity json that has invalid data in versions 1.26.60 and newer.
* Made schema for the minecraft:attack component stricter when parsing and will fail to load an entity json that has invalid data in versions 1.26.60 and newer.
** damage now only accepts a scalar or an object with min and max values. Array values are no longer valid.
* Made schema for the minecraft:inventory component stricter when parsing and will fail to load an entity json that has invalid data in versions 1.26.60 and newer.
* Made schema for the minecraft:spell_effects component stricter when parsing and will fail to load an entity json that has invalid data in versions 1.26.60 and newer.
* The minecraft:can_stand_on_brittle_ice component enables any mob to stand on brittle ice without breaking it.
** Used by defining the component as follows: {{cd|"minecraft:can_stand_on_brittle_ice": {}<nowiki/>}}
* minecraft:projectile:
** Added scale_damage_with_difficulty to on_hit.impact_damage for entity format versions 1.26.70 and later, controlling whether impact damage dealt to players by mob-fired projectiles scales with world difficulty.
** scale_damage_with_difficulty defaults to true; set it to false to disable difficulty scaling. Entities using earlier format versions retain their previous behavior with difficulty scaling disabled.
Minecraft:Features | |||
* Added the internal-only minecraft:crevasse_feature world generation feature, which carves a winding, tapered crevasse into exposed terrain.
** This feature is not currently available for use in creator content.
** The crevasse follows the terrain surface, extends in opposite directions from its placement position, and requires a minimum connected footprint before carving.
*** The following fields configure generation:
**** max_length: Maximum end-to-end length in blocks, from 4 to 16; defaults to 16.
**** max_width: Maximum cross-section width in blocks, from 2 to 8; defaults to 4.
**** min_footprint: Minimum connected horizontal footprint required before carving, from 1 to 32 blocks; defaults to 10.
**** twistiness: Amount of horizontal curvature, from 0.0 to 16.0; defaults to 4.0.
**** carve_depth: Range used to select the carve depth below the origin terrain surface, from 4 to 32 blocks; defaults to [6, 10].
**** fill_depth: Range used to select the fill depth below the origin terrain surface, from 0 to 32 blocks; defaults to [4, 6].
**** surface_block: Optional block placed over the crevasse opening; omitted by default.
**** fill_block: Optional block placed at or below the selected fill depth; omitted by default.
Mobs | |||
* Internal only Vex goals are no longer listed in legacy goal documentation.
Packs | |||
* System packs can no longer be overridden by development packs with the same identity.
Minecraft:Points of Interest
* Released support for defining point-of-interest types with hierarchical tags in behavior packs.
* Released locate poi for locating registered points by type or tag.
UI | |||
* Downloading Marketplace content no longer deletes development resource, behavior, or skin packs with matching UUIDs.
* Malformed JSON UI in resource packs (unresolved control names, invalid anchors, unknown control types, unsolvable layouts, malformed binding expressions, and view binding loops) is now reported as a content log error.
* Route transitions are now built from animation selectors with createRouteTransition, so an animation is data that can depend on the from/to navigation pair rather than a bespoke transition component.
* Route transitions now live in the standalone @mojang/react-route-transition package, with the screen animation setting in @mojang/react-screen-animation, so both can be consumed without depending on @mojang/ui.

=== Changes === | === Changes ===
==== Mobs ==== | |||
Minecraft:Mob spawning
* The spawning mechanics in Minecraft:the Nether have been overhauled to better match JE.
==== Technical ==== | ==== Technical ====
Minecraft:API | |||
* Updated the ScriptPlayer.playMusic method in beta for playing music tracks for an individual player.
** Now returns a SoundInstance when the MusicOptions.fade value is zero or not given.
** Returns undefined when the MusicOptions.fade value is greater than zero.
** Can now pass a SoundDefinition into the trackId field.
* Updated the ScriptWorld.playMusic method in beta for playing music tracks for all players in the world.
** Now returns a SoundInstance when the MusicOptions.fade value is zero or not given.
** Returns undefined when the MusicOptions.fade value is greater than zero.
** Can now pass a SoundDefinition into the trackId field.
* Added support for the minecraft:chiseled_bookshelf block to BlockInventoryComponent in beta.
* Added ItemBlockEntityStorageComponent item component behind beta.
** It may be accessed on any item-stack.
** It has the following methods: store, release, transfer, getEntities and size which work like their BlockEntityStorageComponent counterparts.
*** release however takes an extra position parameter to decide where the entity is being released.
** The component will be pre-populated if the item-stack results from a successful carry_over_block_entity_data loot function.
** Stored entities will be carried over the corresponding placed block if it supports entity-storage.
* CarryOverBlockEntityDataFunction:
** Added the read-only beta property entityStorage to expose whether the loot function carries stored entities from the block entity to the dropped item.
* Added the beta usePreciseRaycast option to BlockRaycastOptions and EntityRaycastOptions to preserve fractional distances and check the full ray. It defaults to false, preserving legacy behavior, and does not apply to BlockSearchOptions.
* Entity raycasts with usePreciseRaycast enabled throw InvalidArgumentError for negative maxDistance values.
Blocks | |||
* Added the optional Boolean field entity_storage to the carry_over_block_entity_data loot function, defaulting to false and requiring the Upcoming Creator Features experiment.
* When entity_storage is true, stored entities are copied from the block entity to the dropped item without being released, independently of the dynamic_properties option.
* Placing the dropped item restores its stored entities when the placed block supports entity storage, without releasing them.
* Split BlockComponentNamedTickEvent's isName into name and isMine.
** name is a string property matching the name used when ScriptBlock.scheduleNamedTick was used.
** isMine is a method that returns true if the event was scheduled by your pack.
* Added two new methods to the Block API and renamed one:
** getScheduledNamedTickCount which returns the amount of named events scheduled at a position, agnostic of pack origin.
** getAllScheduledNamedTicks which returns the vector of named events scheduled at a position by that pack.
** Renamed removeScheduledNamedTick to removeScheduledNamedTicks.
* minecraft:block_entity:
** Added the optional show_ui_on_interaction boolean to container for block format versions 1.26.20 and later with Upcoming Creator Features enabled; it defaults to true.
** Setting show_ui_on_interaction to false disables the built-in container UI and allows normal block interaction events, including registered onPlayerInteract callbacks, to run instead; omitting the field or setting it to true preserves container opening without those callbacks.
** Custom containers now follow chest interaction permissions, preventing container opening and interaction callbacks for players without permission to open containers, even when the UI is disabled.
** Custom containers are now recognized as interactive container blocks, preventing duplicate client-side use of held items during interaction.
** The HUD now shows the "Open" interaction hint for custom containers only when their UI is enabled.
Entity | |||
* Added beta Script API support for positioning entities as passengers of blocks.
** positions an entity as a passenger of a block, with a position offset, rotation, rotation limit, and PassengerOfBlockEmoteType (Standing, Riding, or Laying).
** Entity.stopPassengerOfBlock() stops an entity from being a passenger of a block.
** The read-only Entity.isPassengerOfBlock property reports whether an entity is a passenger of a block.
** Destroying or changing a block does not automatically stop an entity from being its passenger; scripts must call Entity.stopPassengerOfBlock() because blocks are agnostic of their passengers.
** The existing query.is_riding returns true when an entity is riding a vehicle or is a passenger of a block in the Riding pose; the new query.is_laying returns true when an entity is a passenger of a block in the Laying pose. When isPassengerOfBlock is true and both queries are false, the entity is in the Standing pose for animation.
Entity components | |||
* Added a new experimental minecraft:time_marker_sensor entity component, available to entity definitions using the beta format version, which runs an entity event every time a named time marker fires on a named world clock.
Entity filters | |||
* Added the speed entity filter for comparing an entity's speed in meters per second.
* Added the horizontal_speed entity filter for comparing an entity's horizontal speed in meters per second.
* Added the vertical_speed entity filter for comparing an entity's signed vertical speed in meters per second.
Minecraft:Features | |||
* POI type definitions now respect behavior pack stacking order, allowing higher-priority packs to override definitions from lower-priority packs.
gametest | |||
* Added new version for the runset command for gametest which may run multiple tags in a single command. Ex. the command, gametest runset SetA SetB, will now run all tests tagged as SetA or SetB.
* runset now allows for a withoutTags flag to be added which ignores any tests with the specified tags. Ex. the command, gametest runset SetA withoutTags SetB, will run all tests from SetA that do not also have the tag SetB.
* Adjusted the parameter rotationSteps in runset to be explicit rather than implicit. Ex. Previously, a command such as gametest runset SetA 2 would read the rotationSteps, 2, after the specified tag, SetA. Now the rotationSteps flag must be declared before its value as such, gametest runset SetA rotationSteps 2.
Network protocol | |||
* Added enum value gametestRunSetMultiTag to CurrentCmdVersion.

26.70, also known as 1.26.70, the release of the fourth drop of 2026, is an upcoming Minecraft:game drop for Template:BE set to release in the fourth quarter of 2026, which adds the Minecraft:ice caves biome, including Minecraft:frostbites. It also adds the Minecraft:Music Features Add-On and fixes bugs.
Additions
Blocks
File:Brittle Ice (age 0) JE1.png Minecraft:Brittle ice
- A fragile Minecraft:ice block that generates naturally in Minecraft:ice caves.
- Can be created when Minecraft:water touches Minecraft:blue ice.
- Breaks when standing for too long or jumping on them. Its crack level stages do not reset.
- Minecraft:Frostbites standing on brittle ice do not break it.
- Produces Minecraft:particles during its first stage or when it breaks.
- Emits Minecraft:vibrations when its crack level changes.
- Can only be obtained with Minecraft:Silk Touch.
File:Ice Crystal.png Minecraft:Ice crystal
- A crystal block which generates on the ground in Minecraft:ice caves, and can be placed on all sides of a block.
- Provides a small amount of light.
File:Icicle Base (D) BE1.png File:Icicle Base (U) BE1.png Minecraft:Icicle
- A spike block that generates on the ceiling in ice caves, and can also be placed on the ground.
- Grows naturally up to 5 blocks long when hanging downward. Does not grow when there is light or in Minecraft:the Nether.
- Breaks when exposed to nearby light sources or while in the Nether, except for its base block.
- Damages entities when it falls and deals extra damage to entities that land on it.
File:Packed Ice Bricks JE1.png Minecraft:Packed Ice Bricks
- Can be crafted from 4 Minecraft:packed ice.
- Have a File:Packed Ice Brick Slab JE1 BE1.png slab, File:Packed Ice Brick Stairs JE1.png stairs, File:Packed Ice Brick Wall (ewU) BE1.png wall, and File:Chiseled Packed Ice JE1 BE1.png chiseled variant.
- These blocks are not slippery and can be obtained without using Minecraft:Silk Touch.
- Slabs, stairs, walls, and chiseled packed ice can also be crafted using a Minecraft:stonecutter.
Items
File:Frostbite Spawn Egg BE1.png Minecraft:Frostbite spawn egg
- Used to spawn a Minecraft:frostbite.
File:Ice Ball BE1.png Minecraft:Ice ball
- A throwable projectile that deals 4 damage, scaling down with velocity.
- Breaks on impact with blocks or entities, creating a particle effect and sound.
- Obtained by killing a frostbite.
Template:Animate Minecraft:Potion of Freezing
- Obtained by brewing an Minecraft:awkward potion with an Minecraft:ice ball.
- Causes the Minecraft:Freezing effect.
File:Arrow of Freezing BE2.png Minecraft:Arrow of Freezing
- A tipped arrow which causes the Freezing effect.
Mobs
width=55x55 File:Baby Frostbite.png Minecraft:Frostbite
- A zombie variant that can be found in snowy biomes.
- It has two modes of attacking: a melee attack and a ranged attack, similar to Minecraft:drowned.
- Most frostbites use a standard melee attack, which gives the Freezing effect.
- Some frostbites spawn holding ice balls, which they throw as a ranged attack. When the target is close, they switch to melee.
- Drops Minecraft:rotten flesh and Minecraft:ice balls.
- Transforms into a zombie when underwater for long enough.
- It can stand on top of Minecraft:powder snow.
- It is immune to Minecraft:Freezing and does not get slowed by the Freezing effect or powder snow.
Gameplay
- File:Freezing.png Minecraft:Freezing
- An effect that causes an entity to Minecraft:freeze, dealing damage over time, slowing their movement, and lowering their jump height.
- Equipping a piece of leather armor prevents freezing damage but not the slowness.
- Effect technically already existed as Minecraft:powder snow causes the same result.
- Mobs will take additional damage from freezing while they are affected by the mob effect.
- Mobs that are vulnerable to freezing have a five times multiplier to the damage taken.
World generation
- A cave biome that generates underneath frozen biomes. They occasionally generate on the surface.
- The terrain is composed of Minecraft:packed ice and Minecraft:calcite. Icicles hang from the ceiling; ice crystals and patches of Minecraft:snow generate on the ground.
- Large icicles made of packed ice generate on the ground and hanging from the ceiling.
- Ores generate inside blobs of Minecraft:stone and Minecraft:deepslate.
- Minecraft:Glow lichen, Minecraft:dirt, and Minecraft:granite do not generate.
- Common cave monsters, Minecraft:strays, and Minecraft:frostbites can spawn here.
File:Crevasse.png Minecraft:Crevasse
- Generated cracks that generate in ice caves.
- Covered with Minecraft:brittle ice and a few blocks of Minecraft:calcite, and are filled with Minecraft:water below its surface.
Minecraft:Music Features Add-On
Blocks
File:Disc Press.png Minecraft:Disc press
- A craftable block that can be used to create track discs.
- A player can open its GUI by Template:Control it. Here, players can input a blank disc and a Minecraft:dye, then select a Minecraft:music track, to create a music disc with that music track.
- Dyes are not required, they add color to the track disc.
- Available music tracks are Minecraft:menu screen tracks from Minecraft:C418 and Minecraft:fingerspit.
Items
File:Blank Disc BE1.png Minecraft:Blank disc
- A craftable item, used in a disc press to make track discs, and to craft disc presses and pocket jukeboxes. Has no use on its own.
File:Pocket Jukebox BE1.png Minecraft:Pocket jukebox
- A craftable item that can play music from track discs in the player's inventory.
- The color of the item matches with the bundle; there are 16 color variants plus one undyed.
- Its GUI functions similarly to a Minecraft:bundle. It can hold 20 track discs at once.
- When the player Template:Control it, it will start playing the first track. When the player uses it again, it pauses, after which it can be resumed.
- Music played from a pocket jukebox will be played client-side, muting background music.
- Multiple tracks are played subsequently as a playlist.
- The music finishes when the pocket jukebox is no longer in the player's inventory, or the playing track disc is taken out of the pocket jukebox.
- Can be held in the Minecraft:offhand, but not used when doing so.
File:Track Disc White BE1.png Minecraft:Track disc
- A track disc item is produced upon using a blank disc in a disc press. It can hold one music track, and can be played in a Minecraft:jukebox or pocket jukebox.
- There are 16 color variants plus one undyed.
Changes
Blocks
Minecraft:Blue ice, Minecraft:frosted ice, and Minecraft:packed ice
- Added unique sounds.
- Added unique sounds.
- Added Minecraft:ambient sounds for ice.
- When an ice block is surrounded by at least 8 ice blocks in all horizontal directions (east, west, north, and south), with one air block above and one water block below, it has a chance to emit a sound.
File:Jukebox JE3 BE3.png Minecraft:Jukebox
- Textures changed from File:Jukebox JE2 BE2.png.
- Placing a single Minecraft:chest, Minecraft:trapped chest, or Minecraft:copper chest above a jukebox will apply Minecraft:music discs inside to the jukebox as a playlist.
- A disc is automatically injected in the jukebox, and put back in the chest when the track finishes. This will automatically continue with all tracks in the chest, in slot order. After the last disc finishes, the first will be repeated.
- Ejecting the current disc skips to the next available disc.
Enchantments
- Water now freezes in a circular area around the wearer, removing directional bias from the ice trail.
- Water now freezes only while the wearer is on the ground, preventing fatal fall damage caused by frosted ice forming beneath them while diving into water.
Mobs
- Can no longer gain Minecraft:nautilus shells or Minecraft:fishing rods after being converted from a zombie.
Minecraft:Elder guardian and Minecraft:guardian
- Increased guardian base attack damage from 5 to 6 and elder guardian base attack damage from 5 to 8, matching Java Edition.

- Ambient music is now muted when players return within range of a playing jukebox after leaving its broadcast range.
- Realms FAQ scrollbars now update when sections are expanded.
- The new Realms information screen's "Learn more" button disappears for a player once they have clicked it the first time.
- The Minecraft:Realms Hub's "Learn more" section now contains a button linking to a website with Realms tutorials, or contains a QR code for the player to access the tutorials.

Blocks
- Added the Template:Cd block component.
- Marks a block as a source of music discs for a jukebox directly below it.
- Requires a compatible single container.
- Minecraft:Doors:
- The upper half of a door now reports the same Template:Cd block state as the lower half, rather than always reporting the door as closed. This covers doors placed by players, doors generated as part of a structure, and doors in existing worlds, which are corrected the first time their chunk loads.
- Minecraft:Repeater:
- Repeater blocks now expose a Template:Cd block state that is true while a powered repeater or comparator is feeding one of the repeater's side inputs.
- For new worlds (base game version 1.26.60 and later), repeater Template:Cd state changes now trigger neighbor block updates for parity with Java Edition; existing worlds keep the prior client-only update behavior.
- Minecraft:Scaffolding:
- Scaffolding blocks now expose a Template:Cd block state that is true when the block below provides no support and is not another scaffolding.
- For new worlds (base game version 1.26.60 and later), scaffolding Template:Cd state changes now trigger neighbor block updates for parity with Java Edition; existing worlds keep the prior client-only update behavior.
- Modified Template:Cd component renamed Template:Cd field to Template:Cd.
Entity components
- The Template:Cd component now preserves empty equipment slots when Template:Cd is set to Template:Cd.

- Made schema for the Template:Cd component stricter when parsing and will fail to load an entity json that has invalid data in versions 1.26.60 and newer.
- Made schema for the Template:Cd component stricter when parsing and will fail to load an entity json that has invalid data in versions 1.26.60 and newer.
- The Template:Cd component enables any mob to stand on brittle ice without breaking it.
- Used by defining the component as follows: Template:Cd
- Template:Cd:
- Added Template:Cd to Template:Cd for entity format versions 1.26.70 and later, controlling whether impact damage dealt to players by mob-fired projectiles scales with world difficulty.
- Template:Cd defaults to Template:Cd; set it to Template:Cd to disable difficulty scaling. Entities using earlier format versions retain their previous behavior with difficulty scaling disabled.
- Added the internal-only Template:Cd world generation feature, which carves a winding, tapered crevasse into exposed terrain.
- This feature is not currently available for use in creator content.
- The crevasse follows the terrain surface, extends in opposite directions from its placement position, and requires a minimum connected footprint before carving.
- The following fields configure generation:
- Template:Cd: Maximum end-to-end length in blocks, from 4 to 16; defaults to 16.
- Template:Cd: Maximum cross-section width in blocks, from 2 to 8; defaults to 4.
- Template:Cd: Minimum connected horizontal footprint required before carving, from 1 to 32 blocks; defaults to 10.
- Template:Cd: Amount of horizontal curvature, from 0.0 to 16.0; defaults to 4.0.
- Template:Cd: Range used to select the carve depth below the origin terrain surface, from 4 to 32 blocks; defaults to [6, 10].
- Template:Cd: Range used to select the fill depth below the origin terrain surface, from 0 to 32 blocks; defaults to [4, 6].
- Template:Cd: Optional block placed over the crevasse opening; omitted by default.
- Template:Cd: Optional block placed at or below the selected fill depth; omitted by default.
- The following fields configure generation:
Mobs
- Internal only Vex goals are no longer listed in legacy goal documentation.
Packs
- System packs can no longer be overridden by development packs with the same identity.
- Released support for defining point-of-interest types with hierarchical tags in behavior packs.
- Released Template:Cmd for locating registered points by type or tag.
UI
- Downloading Marketplace content no longer deletes development resource, behavior, or skin packs with matching UUIDs.
- Malformed JSON UI in resource packs (unresolved control names, invalid anchors, unknown control types, unsolvable layouts, malformed binding expressions, and view binding loops) is now reported as a content log error.
- Route transitions are now built from animation selectors with Template:Cd, so an animation is data that can depend on the from/to navigation pair rather than a bespoke transition component.
- Route transitions now live in the standalone Template:Cd package, with the screen animation setting in Template:Cd, so both can be consumed without depending on Template:Cd.
Experimental
These additions and changes are accessible by enabling the "Beta APIs", "Upcoming Creator Features", and new "Nether Spawning Rebalancing" Minecraft:experimental toggles.
Changes
Mobs
- The spawning mechanics in Minecraft:the Nether have been overhauled to better match Template:JE.
Technical
- Updated the Template:Cd method in beta for playing music tracks for an individual player.
- Now returns a Template:Cd when the Template:Cd value is zero or not given.
- Returns undefined when the Template:Cd value is greater than zero.
- Can now pass a Template:Cd into the Template:Cd field.
- Updated the Template:Cd method in beta for playing music tracks for all players in the world.
- Now returns a Template:Cd when the Template:Cd value is zero or not given.
- Returns undefined when the Template:Cd value is greater than zero.
- Can now pass a Template:Cd into the Template:Cd field.
- Added support for the Template:Cd block to Template:Cd in Template:Cd.
- Added Template:Cd item component behind Template:Cd.
- It may be accessed on any item-stack.
- It has the following methods: Template:Cd, Template:Cd, Template:Cd, Template:Cd and Template:Cd which work like their Template:Cd counterparts.
- Template:Cd however takes an extra position parameter to decide where the entity is being released.
- The component will be pre-populated if the item-stack results from a successful Template:Cd loot function.
- Stored entities will be carried over the corresponding placed block if it supports entity-storage.
- Template:Cd:
- Added the read-only beta property Template:Cd to expose whether the loot function carries stored entities from the block entity to the dropped item.
- Added the beta Template:Cd option to Template:Cd and Template:Cd to preserve fractional distances and check the full ray. It defaults to Template:Cd, preserving legacy behavior, and does not apply to Template:Cd.
- Entity raycasts with Template:Cd enabled throw Template:Cd for negative Template:Cd values.
Blocks
- Added the optional Boolean field Template:Cd to the Template:Cd loot function, defaulting to false and requiring the Upcoming Creator Features experiment.
- When Template:Cd is Template:Cd, stored entities are copied from the block entity to the dropped item without being released, independently of the Template:Cd option.
- Placing the dropped item restores its stored entities when the placed block supports entity storage, without releasing them.
- Split Template:Cd's Template:Cd into Template:Cd and Template:Cd.
- Template:Cd is a string property matching the name used when Template:Cd was used.
- Template:Cd is a method that returns true if the event was scheduled by your pack.
- Added two new methods to the Block API and renamed one:
- Template:Cd which returns the amount of named events scheduled at a position, agnostic of pack origin.
- Template:Cd which returns the vector of named events scheduled at a position by that pack.
- Renamed Template:Cd to Template:Cd.
- Template:Cd:
- Added the optional Template:Cd boolean to container for block format versions 1.26.20 and later with Upcoming Creator Features enabled; it defaults to Template:Cd.
- Setting Template:Cd to Template:Cd disables the built-in container UI and allows normal block interaction events, including registered Template:Cd callbacks, to run instead; omitting the field or setting it to Template:Cd preserves container opening without those callbacks.
- Custom containers now follow chest interaction permissions, preventing container opening and interaction callbacks for players without permission to open containers, even when the UI is disabled.
- Custom containers are now recognized as interactive container blocks, preventing duplicate client-side use of held items during interaction.
- The HUD now shows the "Open" interaction hint for custom containers only when their UI is enabled.
Entity
- Added beta Script API support for positioning entities as passengers of blocks.
- Template:Cd positions an entity as a passenger of a block, with a position offset, rotation, rotation limit, and Template:Cd (Template:Cd, Template:Cd, or Template:Cd).
- Template:Cd stops an entity from being a passenger of a block.
- The read-only Template:Cd property reports whether an entity is a passenger of a block.
- Destroying or changing a block does not automatically stop an entity from being its passenger; scripts must call Template:Cd because blocks are agnostic of their passengers.
- The existing Template:Cd returns true when an entity is riding a vehicle or is a passenger of a block in the Riding pose; the new query.is_laying returns true when an entity is a passenger of a block in the Template:Cd pose. When Template:Cd is true and both queries are false, the entity is in the Template:Cd pose for animation.
Entity components
- Added a new experimental Template:Cd entity component, available to entity definitions using the beta format version, which runs an entity event every time a named time marker fires on a named world clock.
Entity filters
- Added the Template:Cd entity filter for comparing an entity's speed in meters per second.
- Added the Template:Cd entity filter for comparing an entity's horizontal speed in meters per second.
- Added the Template:Cd entity filter for comparing an entity's signed vertical speed in meters per second.
- POI type definitions now respect behavior pack stacking order, allowing higher-priority packs to override definitions from lower-priority packs.
- Added new version for the Template:Cmd command for Template:Cmd which may run multiple tags in a single command. Ex. the command, Template:Cmd, will now run all tests tagged as Template:Cd or Template:Cd.
- Template:Cmd now allows for a Template:Cd flag to be added which ignores any tests with the specified tags. Ex. the command, Template:Cmd, will run all tests from Template:Cd that do not also have the tag Template:Cd.
- Adjusted the parameter Template:Cd in Template:Cmd to be explicit rather than implicit. Ex. Previously, a command such as Template:Cmd would read the Template:Cd, 2, after the specified tag, Template:Cd. Now the Template:Cd flag must be declared before its value as such, Template:Cmd.
Network protocol
- Added enum value Template:Cd to Template:Cd.
