Template:Infobox biome The plains are common grassland Minecraft:biomes in the Minecraft:Overworld with wide, open terrain and many Minecraft:flowers.
Generation
Plains biomes are common and expansive, and commonly border Minecraft:sunflower plains, Minecraft:forests, and Minecraft:flower forests. Plains biomes also generate at colder and warmer temperature ranges, where they border Minecraft:savannas, Minecraft:deserts, and Minecraft:badlands, or taigas and Minecraft:snowy plains, respectively. They are the second most common Overworld biome, after forests.
Plains generate at any type of elevation; in flatland with occasional hills and cliffs next to Minecraft:swamps, Minecraft:mangrove swamps, and all Minecraft:windswept biomes; or in higher inland terrain with Minecraft:fjords, plateaus, and Minecraft:mountains. Common mountain biomes near plains include Minecraft:cherry groves, Minecraft:meadows, and Minecraft:snowy slopes. When it generates at the lukewarm biome temperature range, Minecraft:stony peaks generate instead of Minecraft:jagged peaks/Minecraft:frozen peaks.
Description
Plains are grassy with few terrain features, creating a wide, open view. Many of the Minecraft:grass blocks are covered in Minecraft:short grass or Minecraft:tall grass, with many different Minecraft:flowers. Oak Minecraft:trees generate sometimes; Template:Frac are large, while Template:Frac have Minecraft:bees and Minecraft:bee nests rarely in the plains.
Some occasional large patches of flowers grow various colors of Minecraft:tulips. Along with Minecraft:flower forests, plains are the only places where tulips generate. Minecraft:Oxeye daisies, Minecraft:cornflowers, Minecraft:dandelions, poppies and Minecraft:azure bluets, sporadically generate within the plains. Minecraft:Bushes also generate in small patches of plain fields.
Minecraft:Villages generate in plains, using oak Minecraft:planks and Minecraft:logs. Minecraft:Pillager outposts can generate here as well.
Minecraft:Horses and Minecraft:donkeys spawn in plains biomes, as well as hostile Minecraft:zombie horses during the nighttime. Common temperate Minecraft:animal variants also spawn.
