Additions

Items

Template:Cd

  • Has no texture and no in-game name and can only be obtained via third-party software.

Changes

Gameplay

Minecraft:Items

  • Players can no longer duplicate items by holding an item and walking into a dropped stack of the same item while the inventory is full.

General

Graphical

  • The size of the Minecraft:End flash in Fancy graphics mode now more closely matches Java Edition.
  • Automatic upscaling now uses the closest supported resolution rounded down when switching to the Custom graphics settings, and Custom mode displays a notice that automatic resolution is only valid for presets.

Minecraft:Main Menu

  • Updated the main menu with a refreshed layout, improved performance through a rebuilt UI system and an updated first-time accessibility setup experience. These updates are being rolled out incrementally, so they might not be available right away.

Minecraft:Realms

  • Major improvements have been made to world download speed.
  • Added a help guide for Realm owners and admins.

Minecraft:Server

  • Added dedicated server settings to observe or enforce entity attack request compatibility and targeted-actor range.

UI

  • Skin info panel now displays on unpurchased skins.
  • Players no longer become stuck on the "Generating World" loading screen when attempting to pause during dimension transfer.
  • The Marketplace Wishlist now updates immediately after items are added, removed, or purchased, instead of showing the previous contents until the game is restarted.
  • First-use onboarding now starts the selected multiplayer world while the player's persona appearance is still loading.
  • Added support for a new Audio category in the Marketplace.
  • Added new icon for Creators navigation button in Marketplace.

Technical

Minecraft:API

Minecraft:Commands

  • Removed the Creator World Clocks Features experiment and implemented all features into gameplay.
  • Template:Cmd commands no longer require the Creator World Clocks Features experiment.
  • New Template:Cmd commands no longer require the Creator World Clocks Features experiment.
  • Added new Template:Cmd for modifying world clocks.
    • Template:Cmd - Adds time to the clock. Cannot result in a negative time.
    • Template:Cmd - Sets the clock to the specified time. Cannot be set to negative.
    • Template:Cmd - Sets the clock to the occurrence of the time marker. Cannot result in a negative time.
    • Template:Cmd - Pauses the clock.
    • Template:Cmd - Resumes the clock.
    • Template:Cmd - Outputs the clock's current time.
  • Added new overloads to the Template:Cmd command for more control of the Overworld clock.
  • Replaced Template:Cmd with Template:Cmd.
    • Sets the Overworld clock to the occurrence of the time marker.
  • Template:Cd Files:
    • Version 2 structure (Template:Cd) files can now use zlib compression to reduce file size.
      • Added a root-level NBT integer tag, Template:Cd, with Template:Cd for no compression and Template:Cd for zlib compression; existing files without this tag continue to load as uncompressed structures.
        • When compression is Template:Cd, the entire Template:Cd compound is serialized as NBT and stored as a zlib-compressed NBT byte array; other root-level metadata remains uncompressed.
        • Structures exported from the game will now use this compression.

Minecraft:Features

  • Replacement rules on ore features no longer get silently skipped if the Template:Cd field is omitted.

Minecraft:UI

  • Added messages that explain why matchmaking queues are cancelled.

Experimental

These additions and changes are accessible by enabling the "Beta APIs", "Upcoming Creator Features", "Render Dragon Features for Creators", and new "Drop 4 of 2026" Minecraft:experimental toggles.

Additions

Blocks

File:Ice Crystal (U) BE1.png Minecraft:Ice crystal

  • A crystal block which generates on the ground in Minecraft:ice caves, and can be placed on all sides of a block.
  • Provides a small amount of light.

File:Icicle Base (D) BE1.png File:Icicle Base (U) BE1.png Minecraft:Icicle

  • A spike block that generates on the ceiling in ice caves, and can also be placed on the ground.
  • Grows naturally up to 5 blocks long when hanging downward. Does not grow when there is light or in Minecraft:the Nether.
  • Breaks when exposed to nearby light sources or while in the Nether, except for its base block.
  • Damages entities when it falls and deals extra damage to entities that land on it.

Items

File:Frostbite Spawn Egg BE1.png Minecraft:Frostbite spawn egg

File:Ice Ball BE1.png Minecraft:Ice ball

  • A throwable projectile that deals 4 damage, scaling down with velocity.
  • Breaks on impact with blocks or entities, creating a particle effect and sound.
  • Obtained by killing a frostbite.

Template:Animate Minecraft:Potion of Freezing

File:Arrow of Freezing BE1.png Minecraft:Arrow of Freezing

  • A tipped arrow which causes the Freezing effect.

Mobs

width=55x55 File:Baby Frostbite.png Minecraft:Frostbite

  • A zombie variant that can be found in snowy biomes.
  • It has two modes of attacking: a melee attack and a ranged attack, similar to Minecraft:drowned.
    • Most frostbites use a standard melee attack, which gives the Freezing effect.
    • Some frostbites spawn holding ice balls, which they throw as a ranged attack. When the target is close, they switch to melee.
  • Drops Minecraft:rotten flesh and Minecraft:ice balls.
  • Transforms into a zombie when underwater for long enough.
  • It can stand on top of Minecraft:powder snow.
  • It is immune to Minecraft:Freezing and does not get slowed by the Freezing effect or powder snow.

Gameplay

Minecraft:Effects

  • File:Freezing.png Minecraft:Freezing
    • An effect that causes an entity to Minecraft:freeze, dealing damage over time, slowing their movement, and lowering their jump height.
    • Equipping a piece of leather armor prevents freezing damage but not the slowness.
    • Effect technically already existed as Minecraft:powder snow causes the same result.
    • Mobs will take additional damage from freezing while they are affected by the mob effect.
      • Mobs that are vulnerable to freezing have a five times multiplier to the damage taken.

Changes

Blocks

Minecraft:Ice

Mobs

Minecraft:Husks and Minecraft:zombies

  • Now convert into frostbites when in powder snow for 30 seconds.

Technical

Minecraft:API

  • Added the Template:Cd event in Template:Cd to let scripts cancel an attack initiated through a player item interaction before it causes authoritative attack effects.
  • Added the class Template:Cd to Template:Cd for accessing recipe processing inputs and output (initially supporting the crafter block).
  • Added the beta Script API access to the Template:Cd block component, including methods to read whether vibrations can be dampened or occluded.
  • Added the class Template:Cd to Template:Cd.
  • Added the class Template:Cd to Template:Cd.
  • Added the class Template:Cd to Template:Cd.
  • Added the class Template:Cd to Template:Cd.
  • Added the property Template:Cd to Template:Cd.
  • Added the property Template:Cd to Template:Cd.
  • Added the beta Template:Cd event for custom block components.
    • Use Template:Cd to choose which neighboring directions trigger the event.
    • Call Template:Cd to get the neighboring block changes.
    • For each tick, the game queues one event for each listening block with neighbor changes. Changes from different ticks create separate events, even if delivery is delayed.
    • Each chunk queues at most 4,096 events and delivers at most 100 events per tick. New events are dropped while the queue is full.
    • Template:Cd returns one Template:Cd for each direction that changed during the tick.
    • If one direction changes more than once during a tick, Template:Cd contains the permutation before the first change and Template:Cd contains the permutation after the last change. Intermediate permutations are not included.
    • Template:Cd points from the listening block to the neighbor that changed.
    • Template:Cd is a live handle to the listening block. The permutations returned by Template:Cd are snapshots of the changed neighbor.
    • If the block does not have Template:Cd, changes from all neighboring directions can trigger the event.

Minecraft:Block components

  • Added an optional Template:Cd field to container in the Template:Cd block component, accepting literal text or localization keys of 1 to 256 characters with Upcoming Creator Features enabled; omitting the field leaves the container heading blank.
  • Data-driven container titles now stay on one line and truncate with ... when needed in Classic and Pocket UI, including after localization.
  • Added experimential block components, which require format version 1.26.60 and the Upcoming Creator Features experiment:
    • Added the experimental Template:Cd block component, which defines whether a block can transmit enchantment power. If set to true and a block with this component is placed in the 1 block gap between an Minecraft:enchanting table and a Minecraft:bookshelf, the enchantment table will remain powered by the bookshelf.
    • Added the experimental Template:Cd block component, which defines whether a custom block dampens or occludes vibrations through the Template:Cd and Template:Cd properties.
    • Added the experimental Template:Cd block component, which lets creators configure which neighboring block changes trigger the neighbor change after event for block custom components.

Fixes

Template:Fixes Other

  • Fixed a bug on Android where the Disclosure pop-up could not be interacted with.
  • Fixed Minecraft:redstone dust not rendering the climb up the side of a block when the same wire also steps down to another wire on the opposite side.
  • Fixed a bug where distance fog was overly bright when rendered in front of a water surface.
  • Fixed an issue where sounds could become out of sync after the game was paused and resumed.
  • Fixed a crash when holding an invalid Minecraft:photo.
  • Fixed an issue where joining a friend's world while already in a world could incorrectly load newer Vanilla resources when the friend's world used an older template.
  • Fixed an issue with infinitely growing string values in level data.
