Template:Distinguish Template:Infobox item A golden apple is a Minecraft:food item that bestows beneficial effects when consumed (Minecraft:Absorption and Minecraft:Regeneration) and is also used to cure a Minecraft:zombie villager under the Minecraft:Weakness effect into a normal Minecraft:villager.

On the base of ancient_city/city_center/city_center_2, a single golden apple is contained in the Minecraft:chest. Eating it at that location unlocks the Minecraft:piston doors to the Minecraft:redstone labs beneath.

To eat a golden apple, press and hold Template:Control while it is selected in the hotbar. It restores Template:Hunger points of hunger and 9.6 hunger saturation.

Unlike most foods, golden apples can be eaten even if the hunger bar is full.

The golden apple provides:

Template:IN, eating multiple golden apples in a row causes the Absorption effect to stack, up to Template:Hp points of absorption health.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>

Curing zombie villagers

A golden apple and a splash Minecraft:potion of Weakness can be used to convert a Minecraft:zombie villager into a regular Minecraft:villager.

Horses

Golden apples can be used for improving the chances of taming a Minecraft:horse by 10%, for Minecraft:breeding, leading and healing horses, and for speeding up the growth of baby horses by 4 minutes. Template:IN, due to a bug, Minecraft:skeleton horses (in their hostile state; being ridden by Minecraft:skeletons) can also be fed golden apples.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>

Piglins

Minecraft:Piglins run toward any golden apple item on the ground and inspect it for 6 seconds Template:In or 8 seconds Template:In<ref>Template:Bug</ref> before putting it in their inventory. However, piglins do not eat golden apples (or any Minecraft:food).
