History

Rise to power

When she discovered the garou on their homeworld of Dragonwilds:Antumnos, she was initially treated as prey. However, she demonstrated her divine nature by defeating her hunters.Template:CiteJournal Following this, she challenged all the reigning kings of the garou clans in the capital city of Dragonwilds:Magrawn and defeated them in a single battle, ultimately claiming the title of High Queen.Template:CiteJournal No later challenger unseated her for centuries afterwards.Template:CiteJournal Dragonwilds:Moon Garou tradition names the defeated party as the elders of the tribes rather than the clan kings.Template:CiteNPC She later brought the garou from Antumnos to Dragonwilds:Gielinor, settling in Dragonwilds:Ashenfall.Template:CiteNPC

Reign and the Human-Garou War

Under Lougrim's leadership, the garou were focused and refined into exceptional hunters.Template:CiteJournal She retained the moon as her symbol, a reminder of her origins.Template:CiteJournal Her high priests crafted the king's tokens hundreds of years ago.Template:CiteJournal She granted weapons to champions she favoured, among them Dragonwilds:King Raluh, who received Dragonwilds:Skullsplitter.Template:CiteJournal Her followers knew her as the Huntress in moonlight.Template:CiteText

Before a peace was agreed between the garou and the human settlers, garou hunting parties treated travellers as legitimate quarry.Template:CiteJournal

During the Dragonwilds:Human-Garou War, she and the garou conflicted with the humans, and eventually the goblins, the latter arriving with their God of War Dragonwilds:Bandos. Bandos entered the conflict to settle a grievance of his own, which the human clergy attributed to her.Template:CiteJournal By her own account the grievance was older and broader than that, a slight inflicted by the garou aeons earlier on a world other than Gielinor.Template:CiteJournal What the slight was goes unrecorded. The terms agreed between the Saradominist priests and the emissaries of Bandos traded the mines of Dragonwilds:Ghornfell to the humans in exchange for her head.Template:CiteJournal Bandos brought ogres with him for that campaign, and they broke through the garou lines with little resistance.Template:CiteJournal To the priests of Dragonwilds:Saradomin she was an impostor, and the extermination of her followers was framed as an act of purification.Template:CiteJournal

As her followers were being pushed back and cornered, particularly after humans began using iron weapons against them, she mourned for her lost children.Template:CiteJournal She found the Dragonkin and allied with them, binding herself to the service of the Dragonwilds:Cabal.Template:CiteJournal This alliance allowed them to release Dragons onto the army, turning the tide of battle. She rode a dragon into the assault, flanked by two dragonkin.Template:CiteJournal This reinforcement led to their victory when Bandos fought Dragonwilds:Velgar and was defeated due to his arrogance. After the war god's retreat, Lougrim would cease the attack on the humans, finding a sort of peace between them and the garou. She also assisted with the Dragonkin experimentation, which resulted in the creation of Dragonwilds:Kuldra.

Her blood was treated by the dragonkin as a material resource, valued for the vitality it carried, and quantities of it were sealed in urns and hidden in separate locations across Ashenfall.Template:CiteJournal Dragonwilds:Lacrussa intended to refine that power and merge it with a dragon in pursuit of a viable dragonkin host.Template:CiteText

Teachings

She granted the first garou blacksmiths the templates for their weapons, teaching them the shape of the blade and the balance of the hilt.Template:CiteJournal She rejected the use of poison by hunters on the grounds that it degraded the hunt, permitting it only to spellcasters.Template:CiteJournal Garou druids of her era were restrained by ritual observance and directed towards approved quarry.Template:CiteJournal She also set tasks for individual followers, appearing to the druid Dragonwilds:Ashien in a vision and directing her into the swamps to fight a demon.Template:CiteJournal Moon Garou tradition holds instead that she taught the garou to hunt without blade or bow on Antumnos, and to take no more than they needed.Template:CiteText

Defeat and legacy

Sometime after the war against the humans and goblins, Lougrim was challenged by Kuldra, who started a rebellion against the Dragonkin, freeing the dragons from their chains. Garou history holds that Kuldra defeated and devoured her in a cataclysmic battle.Template:CiteJournalTemplate:CiteJournal

A competing account survives among the Moon Garou of the Dragonwilds:Umbral Sands, drawn from a Forbidden Scroll. In it no challenge was issued, and Kuldra devoured her while she was drained from shielding villages against dragonfire.Template:CiteNPC Which version is accurate remains unresolved, as does the reason the second was suppressed.Template:CiteNPC

Her death divided the garou. The clans that accepted Kuldra's claim remained in the north, while those that refused abandoned their homes and travelled east, becoming the Dragonwilds:Moon Garou of the Dragonwilds:Umbral Sands.Template:CiteNPC She was the first deity of the garou, and the Moon Garou went without one for a time before Dragonwilds:Elidinis took her place among them.Template:CiteNPC

Despite her death, Lougrim's influence persists. Her priests continue to bear her moon symbol on their staves and altars, even while accepting Kuldra as their High Queen.Template:CiteJournal The rites of challenge and kingship she presided over are still observed by garou who no longer worship her.Template:CiteJournal Shrines dedicated to her remain in Ashenfall, where rituals of purification are still performed in her memory.Template:CiteText There are also legends of a Silver Dire Wolf among some of the garou, believing it to be the reincarnated goddess, slowly rebuilding her power before rechallenging Kuldra.Template:CiteJournal
