Template:Infobox item A copper chestplate is a variant of Minecraft:chestplate crafted from copper ingots. It is the sixth-highest tier of chestplate, having higher armor points and durability than a leather tunic.
Obtaining
Crafting
Mob loot
Minecraft:Zombies, Minecraft:husks, skeletons, strays, and bogged have a small chance to spawn wearing armor, which may include a copper chestplate. There is a 8.5% chance (9.5% with Looting I, 10.5% with Looting II and 11.5% with Looting III) for the mob to drop the chestplate they're wearing upon death. The dropped chestplate is usually badly damaged, and may be enchanted with enchantment levels 5-19.
Usage
When worn, a copper chestplate provides 4 (Template:Armorbar) armor points.
Repairing
Two damaged copper chestplates can be combined through Minecraft:crafting or using the Minecraft:grindstone. The durability of the used copper chestplates are added together, plus an extra 5% durability. Both the crafting table and grindstone methods do not keep the enchantments of either chestplate.

Unit repair
A copper chestplate can also be repaired in an Minecraft:anvil by adding copper ingots, with each ingot restoring 25% the copper chestplates' maximum durability, rounded down. Two copper chestplates of the same tier can also be combined in an anvil. Both methods using the anvil preserves a copper chestplate's enchantments.
Enchantments
A copper chestplate can receive the following enchantments:

Armor trimming
It is possible to upgrade armor with trims. This requires a smithing template, a copper chestplate, and an ingot or crystal (iron ingot, copper ingot, gold ingot, netherite ingot, Minecraft:emerald, redstone dust, lapis lazuli, amethyst shard, nether quartz, Minecraft:diamond, or resin brick).
These trims have no effect on the gameplay or strength of the armor.
