Mob loot

Minecraft:Zombies, Minecraft:husks, Minecraft:skeletons, Minecraft:strays, and Minecraft:bogged have a small chance to spawn wearing armor, which may include a copper chestplate. There is a 8.5% chance (9.5% with Minecraft:Looting I, 10.5% with Looting II and 11.5% with Looting III) for the mob to drop the chestplate they're wearing upon death. The dropped chestplate is usually badly damaged, and may be Minecraft:enchanted with enchantment levels 5-19.

Usage

When worn, a copper chestplate provides Template:Armor Minecraft:armor points.

Repairing

Two damaged copper chestplates can be combined through Minecraft:crafting or using the Minecraft:grindstone. The durability of the used copper chestplates are added together, plus an extra 5% durability. Both the crafting table and grindstone methods do not keep the enchantments of either chestplate.

Unit repair

Template:Repairing

A copper chestplate can also be repaired in an Minecraft:anvil by adding Minecraft:copper ingots, with each ingot restoring 25% the copper chestplates' maximum durability, rounded down. Two copper chestplates of the same tier can also be combined in an anvil. Both methods using the anvil preserves a copper chestplate's Minecraft:enchantments.

Enchantments

A copper chestplate can receive the following Minecraft:enchantments:

Armor trimming

It is possible to upgrade armor with trims. This requires a Minecraft:smithing template, a copper chestplate, and an ingot or crystal (Minecraft:iron ingot, Minecraft:copper ingot, Minecraft:gold ingot, Minecraft:netherite ingot, Minecraft:emerald, Minecraft:redstone dust, Minecraft:lapis lazuli, Minecraft:amethyst shard, Minecraft:nether quartz, Minecraft:diamond, or Minecraft:resin brick).

These trims have no effect on the gameplay or strength of the armor.
