Tiny Takeover is a Minecraft:game drop that was released on March 24, 2026<ref>Template:Ytl</ref> as Minecraft:Java Edition 26.1 and Minecraft:Bedrock Edition 26.10. Its theme is "cuteness" and "emotional attachment with mobs".<ref>Template:Ytl (4:20)</ref> It visually overhauls Minecraft:baby mobs and Minecraft:rabbits, makes Minecraft:name tags craftable, and adds the Minecraft:golden dandelion, which when fed to baby animals, stops them from aging.

During development, the update was referred to as Drop 1 of 2026. The final name of the update was revealed on Minecraft:Minecraft.net and Minecraft:Minecraft Monthly on March 3, 2026.<ref name="dropname">Template:Mcnet</ref><ref>Template:Ytl (3:34)</ref>

Some features of this drop were released as part of an Minecraft:experiment in Minecraft:Bedrock Edition 26.0.

Blocks

A new golden variant of the regular Minecraft:dandelion.
Does not generate naturally.
Can be crafted using a single Minecraft:dandelion surrounded with eight Minecraft:gold nuggets.
Prevents Minecraft:baby animals from aging when used, showing downward green particles.
- When used again, the animal will continue to age again, showing upward green particles.
- Cannot be used on baby Minecraft:undead mobs, Minecraft:piglins, and Minecraft:villagers.
Can be used to make Minecraft:suspicious stew of the Saturation effect.
Cannot be Minecraft:composted or used to attract Minecraft:bees.
Attracts Minecraft:piglins.

Sounds

Minecraft:Note block

Added the trumpet instrument.
- It can be heard when a note block is placed on top of any of the following Minecraft:copper blocks:
  - Template:BlockLink
  - Template:BlockLink and its variants.
  - Template:BlockLink
- The sound is different based on the oxidation level of the copper block by how old the trumpet is.

Minecraft:Mobs

Added sound variants for the following Minecraft:animals:
- Minecraft:Cat: Royal
- Minecraft:Chicken: Picky
- Minecraft:Cow: Moody
- Minecraft:Pig: Mini and Big
- The already existing mob sounds are now part of the Classic sound variant.

Added eating sounds for Minecraft:pigs.

Minecraft:Helmets, Minecraft:chestplates, Minecraft:leggings, and Minecraft:boots now have unique textures and models when worn by the baby variants of Minecraft:zombies, Minecraft:husks, Minecraft:drowned, Minecraft:zombie villagers, Minecraft:piglins, and Minecraft:zombified piglins.
- Does not display Minecraft:trims in that form.

Minecraft:Name tag

Can now be crafted using a single Minecraft:nugget of any kind and a Minecraft:paper.

Template:Crafting

No longer sold by Minecraft:librarians.
No longer found in chests in Minecraft:woodland mansions and Minecraft:ancient cities.
Can now be sold by Minecraft:wandering traders as a common trade for 1 Minecraft:emerald with a 7% chance, and 5 trades in stock.

Mobs

Updated the models and textures of the following Minecraft:baby mobs: Template:Columns-list

Minecraft:Carpets, Minecraft:chests, Minecraft:horse armor, Minecraft:saddles, and Minecraft:wolf armor no longer render on baby variants of the mobs stated above, when applicable.
Changed sounds for kittens, Minecraft:chicks, foals, baby Minecraft:pigs, and Minecraft:puppies. Now uses its own sounds instead of high pitched adult sounds.

Template:Animate Minecraft:Horse

The black-dot pattern of the adult horse has been changed to better match with the new foal.

Minecraft:Librarian

No longer offers Minecraft:name tags as a trade.
Now offers Minecraft:red candles and Minecraft:yellow candles for the price of three Minecraft:emeralds (per candle) at the Master level.

The models, animations, and textures have been updated.

Minecraft:Zombie and Minecraft:Zombified Piglin Template:Exclusive Zombie and zombified piglin Minecraft:Leaders have recieved major changes, to adjust to how their initial implementation was supposed to work:

They now spawn with increased health (Template:Hp to Template:Hp for both mobs).
They now can spawn with a 5% chance when a Zombie or Zombified piglin is spawned not as a reinforcment on Minecraft:Normal or Minecraft:Hard difficulty, whereas previously leaders could spawn on Minecraft:Hard difficulty only.

Gameplay

Minecraft:Stonecutter

Can now directly turn Minecraft:stone and Minecraft:deepslate into their respective cobbled variants.

Downloadable content

On March 24, a Minecraft:skin pack entitled Minecraft:Tiny Takeover: Mob Caretakers was released, consisting of three characters themed after the mobs added in the update. An add-on, Minecraft:Tiny Takeover: Mini Mania, was announced the next day.<ref>Template:Mcnet</ref>

Social Media Takeover

Beginning with the announcement of the title in Minecraft:Minecraft Monthly, the update was marketed with the gimmick of baby or otherwise small mobs "taking over" the Minecraft franchise. Within the announcement, there is a running gag of Minecraft:Tiny Agnes and Minecraft:Tiny Vu trying to hack the show and host it instead. On the same day, Minecraft:Minecraft.net was updated with several baby mobs infesting design elements, peeking out of a link to Minecraft:Spring to Life - Official Minecraft Trailer, hovering the Minecraft:Mounts of Mayhem site header, and appearing on the icons for various social media platforms.<ref name="mcnet title">Template:Citation</ref> In the article about the name, Minecraft:Linn Viberg's Minecraft:Mojavatar became covered in chicks, and several previously released promotional images were altered to show chicks interacting with the borders.<ref name="dropname"/>

This extended even after Minecraft:Minecraft LIVE – March 2026 was announced, with both a trailer and promotional video featuring a takeover of chicks.<ref>Template:Citation</ref> Within the show itself, the sets were even decorated to be overflowing with baby mobs, giving the appearance of a taken over space. Another trailer was also released, once again centering around babies invading Minecraft. Once the update released, changelogs used images of this same scenario; one in a field full of them,<ref>Template:Mcnet</ref> the others seemingly chasing Minecraft:Efe.<ref>Template:Mcnet</ref>
