The seed templates is an interface Template:In that allows the player to choose from a number of preset Minecraft:world seeds for generating worlds with specific features or landscapes near the Minecraft:world spawn. There are 26 different seed templates.
Usage
To get to the seed template interface, from the "Worlds" tab in the Minecraft:Play screen, select "Create new world" twice. Go to the "Advanced" section, and next to the "World seed" input field, there is an button named "Templates". Clicking on this button opens the seed templates screen. This screen shows a scrollable region of named thumbnails to browse the preset seeds. Clicking on a thumbnail returns to the Create new world screen with the applicable seed filled in.
Seed templates are only accessible with an Internet connection, even though world creation does not require this. This is because seed templates can get updated through asset updates outside the normal update cycle. Relevant information is stored in the cache files.
Templates
| Template name | World seed | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Template:Code | The player spawns on a large wooded badlands plateau near a small river fjord. The entrance to dripstone caves is clearly visible from the river, connecting to both lush caves and a deep dark with an ancient city. A Minecraft:jungle with stony peaks is nearby on the surface. | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns on the edge of a Minecraft:savanna and a large mangrove swamp. There are many different biomes nearby, most notably a regular Minecraft:swamp and snowy windswept hills. | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns on a Minecraft:beach near a tundra. A Minecraft:village next to a pillager outpost is found farther, An Minecraft:igloo without basement is located inside the village and a ruined portal is close. On the beach is also a fully intact stranded Minecraft:shipwreck. | |
| Template:Code | A jagged peaks mountain ring located in an elevated Minecraft:meadow landscape with many mountain peaks and a dark forest with Minecraft:pale gardens. Multiple ancient cities are below the mountains. A woodland mansion generates close in the dark forest, as well as two Minecraft:stronghold villages in the plains. | |
| Template:Code | A small bamboo jungle on a jagged coast with some Minecraft:stony shores. Stony peaks are close, where the landscape elevates into a dark forest with a pale garden. The spawn is far away from most structures, only an ancient city generates below the stony peaks. | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns on an old growth pine taiga bay with many beaches. On the right is a frozen ocean with a taiga Minecraft:village. Two trail ruins are nearby, and lush caves generate below the taigas. | |
| Template:Code | Lowland Minecraft:forest biomes with a large Minecraft:river that connects to some tiny oceans in the landscape. In the east is a swamp, in the west are trail ruins and a jungle pyramid. | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns between two plains villages plus a ruined portal in a flat landscape with many islands and small ocean bays. More inland to the east are more villages, to the north is a woodland mansion. | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns on a small Minecraft:desert beach next to both a desert pyramid and abandoned desert village. Forests and a warm ocean surround the desert, as well as two savanna villages and a second abandoned village. | |
| Template:Code | A coastal desert village with some buildings crushed by eroded badlands hoodoos. The desert, connected to a Minecraft:jungle and some other biomes, makes up an extremely large island with no connection to the mainland. | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns on a gravel beach with the ocean monument visible underwater only 40 blocks away. The mainland consists of a forest and savanna with some villages. | |
| Template:Code | The world spawn is on a stony shore marking the border between a jungle and badlands biome, the latter stretching over a large area into the north next to wooded badlands. | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns in a very mountainous, forested and cold area, with a vast frozen landscape to the west. A pillager outpost actually a very long distance away. An ocean monument is near the shore, ironically even closer than the one in "Ocean Monument Ahead". | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns on top of a woodland mansion in a dark forest on the coast, surrounded by other forest biomes. Trail ruins are nearby. | |
| Template:Code | This seed spawns the player in an old growth pine taiga next to a cold ocean. On the other side, there is a frozen ocean bay surrounded by snowy taigas on some extremely shattered terrain. Both trail ruins and a Minecraft:village generate on top of the mountains. | |
| Template:Code | Because the coordinates 0 0 are on a giant Minecraft:mushroom island, the world spawn gets pushed south into a snowy Minecraft:stronghold village. An abandoned snowy taiga village generates close, and an ocean monument is visible beneath the frozen ocean. | |
| Template:Code | This seed spawns the player in between many forest biomes with some small beaches, including a dark forest, birch forest, bamboo jungle, and Minecraft:forest. A nearby Minecraft:village extends into a sparse jungle. | |
| Template:Code | Spawns the player on the edge of a large Minecraft:jungle with other forest biomes and a Minecraft:savanna nearby. There are many jungle pyramids here. | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns facing the mushroom fields, visible with a render distance above 24 chunks. It is located in a rather small ocean that is surrounded entirely by very mountainous terrain, mostly with Minecraft:forests, old growth taigas, and Minecraft:cherry groves as lower biomes. | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns on a cave entrance that eventually leads to some very large sulfur caves. The surface includes coastal plains biomes with a dappled forest in the north.Template:Upcoming | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns on a small plains island with a Minecraft:village and ruined portal with a Minecraft:stronghold below it. There is a larger Minecraft:taiga island with another stronghold village to the east. The mainland is extremely far away, thousands of blocks in each direction. | |
| Template:Code | There are trial chambers right below spawn. The surface is plains and forest with some massive Minecraft:mountains to the north, although there are barely any other structures close. | |
| Template:Code | Spawns the player in a forest facing a cherry grove to the south. The cherry grove is small, but there is a very large pale garden to the west. | |
| Template:Cd | Large sunflower plains with some hills containing Minecraft:cherry groves or cheese caves. There are many Minecraft:villages in the landscape. | |
| Template:Code | Spawns the player in a large dark forest next to some massive pale garden plateaus. Rivers in the landscape cut deep fjords, exposing lush caves. | |
| Template:Code | The player spawns on a dark forest bordering birch forests on a lake with hilly, sometimes mountainous terrain. The lake reveals large cheese cave openings connecting into lush caves below the landscape. |
Discontinued presets
Template:More imagesSeeds in the seed templates are discontinued when changes in the world generating algorithms cause the seed to appear differently.
Starting in Minecraft:Bedrock Edition 1.10.0, strongholds have less chance of spawning under a village, and with Minecraft:Bedrock Edition 1.11.0, generated structures such as villages and temples spawn at different locations from previous editions. Therefore, the stronghold near the spawn point disappeared from the "Stronghold Village" seed, and there is no longer a village nearby in most seeds that were named for a village.
In Minecraft:Bedrock Edition 1.17.40, several seeds were removed in preparation for the Minecraft:Caves & Cliffs Part II update (Minecraft:Bedrock Edition 1.18.0), because they were made obsolete by the introduction of significant changes in the terrain generation algorithm.<ref>Template:Citation</ref> Most of these worlds were restored to the seed templates in 1.18 with new seed values.
| Template name | World seed | Description | Removed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Template:Code | The player spawns deep in a Minecraft:jungle biome surrounded by a large Minecraft:taiga. | Removed in alpha 1.0.0.0 | |

| Template:Code | The player spawns in a Minecraft:village on the edge of some very tall mountain cliffs reaching the world generation limit of Y=128, with some buildings on top of this. This is next to a swamp with a visible swamp hut, and a Minecraft:desert biome. The seed thumbnail is now used for world slots in the Edit Realm page on minecraft.net. | Removed in 1.11.0 mostly due to village generation and world spawn algorithm changes. | |
| Template:Code | Near the world spawn on the coast, the player can overlook multiple coastal mountain biomes with stone shores reaching the world generation limit and some very rugged terrain with overhangs and floating islands. One of these is completely disconnected from the mainland. | ||
